How much more do these semi-crazed people at Edison need than the word "Fukushima". How is it even THINKABLE that we could have 5/8' thick cannisters in an earthquake prone area that covers the entire western scenic coast of California and is between two of its landmark cities and beaches. Defies credulity. And the NRC no longer puts public safety first??? HOw much more Orwellian can it get?

Containment is only as strong as its weakest link. These casks won't last nearly long enough, not even a 1000 years, let alone several 1000. Salt water exposure will dramatically reduce these expectations. This is a disaster waiting to happen!

Not one person I know looks at the diagram of where this waste is being put and doesn't think of Fukushima. With all that is known about HLRW, how, HOW? can people be even thinking of doing this?

We demand that there is a stop work order until needed changes to the safety culture have been put in place.

I am sickened by the lack of care and control at SONGS. Some of us can’t sleep over it, and some have their heads buried in radioactive sand.

Do not bury nuclear waste at the beach - what a moronic proposal - it is time the base takes over the waste and turns it into inert glass chips - stop this Now!
