As a '94 grad of the school, I can easily hear the difference in the music with the band being intermingled. The pipes are a very distinctive part of The Citadel experience for both the cadets and visitors and their sound should be celebrated and distinct. This is not to take away from the other band in no way. They both have distinctive sounds that do not present well as an intermingled band during the parades. That should be reserved for special performances.

No idea where this short sighted idea came from or why the person in charge, once confronted with the obvious blunder, refuses to correct a wrong.

Son of a Citadel alumnus. I grew up watching the pipes lead the band past the Alumni House on Hagood Avenue.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. This band has performed extremely well wherever it has been called upon. Overseas, in the state, and on campus.

As the grandmother of a piper and a sincere upholder of tradition, I request the Band and Pipes be restored to its traditional formation position. Thank you.
