I agree with this petition that yes the Bag Pipes should lead as a group.

The Pipers should lead the way.

Keep them separate. It gives all involved a distinct and memorable impression that is not reproduced anywhere else.

The formation really should never have been changed. Please return to having the pipes out front!!

Quite frankly the pipers of The Citadel need to be restored to their original position and wear the original uniforms they started out with. These bandmembers help motivate and encourage not just cadets but alumni. The pipers remind all alumni of years past spent at our great glorious institution. We should not discard or change everything at our school or it will eventually not even exist anymore. Go Dogs!!!!!!

Class of '76 - I applied to The Citadel having seen the Pipe Band in the Tricentennial Parade and knowing only that about the school. Massed band Garryowen was the most stirring tune I marched to as a member of D company and it sounded great.

As the eye captures the marching band, it is the pipe band in front which so significantly captures the attention of all, especially visitors to the parade ground. I'd agree to intersperse the pipes for music phasing when you are cutting a recording, but for esprit de corps, impressiveness, and pomp, there is not anyplace other than front they belong.
