I played trumpet in the band for 4 years and was always proud to have the pipe band out front. I always thought that we looked and sounded great. Together, we were The Regimental Band. '82

Fully support the petition. Pipes should stay & play together. At best, present arrangement/concept seems dissonant. JSS 72.

R/BD '01 While the aesthetics are...disorganized, to put it mildly. The sound is completely unacceptable. Orchestras and bands are organized by section, then by instrument for a reason. Physics dictates that sound travels in waves. These waves combine. When dissimilar instruments combine before reaching your ear, the result is a cacophony of sounds. When arranged parts are played with like instruments grouped together, the sounds combine, build, and allow for each instrument to be heard, while still being a part of the "symphony" of sound.

The mixed bad sounds terrible. This is NOT a criticism to the cadets whatsoever, but for the band director who can't admit that it just doesn't work. Its cool to do new things, but not at the cost of sounding bad. Put the pipe band in front and the regimental band in the back. There will be no animosity between them because they are all brothers and sisters. Band 2013

Don't try to fix something that was not broken in the first place. The band always looked sharp but the latest videos with them mixed look pretty bad.
