John Scott was a hard working NHL grinder. A family man with a wife, children, and even twins on the way. While he is not a common NHL superstar, he was voted as a captain for the 2016 NHL All-Star game, by the fans. Since the NHL did not want a non-superstar in the game, they colluded to keep him out of it. After he snubbed requests to bow out on his own, by both the NHL and the Phoenix Coyotes, he was traded to the Montreal Canadiens and sent down to their AHL affiliate, so he would not longer be eligible to participate in the NHL All-Star game. The NHL needs to take responsibility for its embarrassing actions and put John Scott back in the All-Star game. The fans voted him in and we need to show the league we still want to see him play.

Updates

January 16, 2016

The NHL thought they could just delete John Scott from the roster and hope we would forget about it. This wave of support proves they cannot ignore the people who actually watch their games.

Just let him play. It's not like there's money riding on the outcome. Sometimes it's nice to not have to watch the so called "superstars". Embarrassed right now that my team (Habs) was part of this bullying.

This is despicable behavior of the NHL and a horrible way for the league to treat their fans choice of vote. Scott would have enjoyed the experience and deserves the opportunity to play.

If the NHL is going to make a voting system that allows any player to be voted into the NHL, they must allow for this type of thing to happen, and then fix the system for future all star games. Instead the NHL are to blame for wrecking John Scott' potential future as a grinder in the NHL. The NHL has subverted the power of the fans in this vote and now John Scott (who has a wife and kids), has to pay the consequences.

Time for the NHL to do the right thing. It's moves like this that will always keep you from being a true big nine professional sports league!

I liked whe JS was on the Hawks. He made it to the big time for a reason, not cause of skill but because many want to eliminate those with skill. He has played his role, and will fade from his position soon. I would not ever think to vote JS in for the AS game, but why not accept that the peeps voted. We whom pay to watch, we whom sometimes want to be heard, (regardless that it was an Internet ambition) have voted. I'm watching and hope he plays and scores a couple. I want him back on the Hawks cause the many want to eliminate those with skill!
