It is one thing to teach tolerance, but when it is age appropriate. This is no different than telling children that it is okay to be a prostitute, pedophile, or murderer because those are also life choices. It is a sad indicator of how far our society has come when we promote the devaluation of the divinity of gender.

This is my job. This kind of education should come from home. I am pro LGBT community, I support them fully.

This subject is up to the parents, it should never be pushed on children by strangers, and teachers are strangers, they have no clues about family values for each child's family. They need to go back and teach what Elementary students need to learn. Actually it wouldn't be anything to do with common core, but normal reading, listening to stories, play, and so on. Stop this stuff already!

This needs to be stopped, if there are people that believe this stuff needs to be taught, let them start a private school, or just teach it yourselves leave my family out of it.

Yes I live in Utah. But if this crap starts in one state it can trickle to another. And if I very move to Washington for work if this is being taught in schools I WILL HOMESCHOOL my kids.. which means less funding for YOUR SCHOOLS. I'm sharing this far and wide.

This is my job, my decision as to when and what my children learn. I work in education and the majority of students at my school are not up to grade level, we are short-staffed and there are so many other things that this time and money should be going toward. Our teachers are so focused on behavior issues over academics already. How about social/emotional curriculum instead? How about we are all different in some way and we need to respect everyone whether we agree or not and it's ok not to agree and still be able to work together? This should not be in the schools!

Schools have taken out diety but i have never seen a teacher getting in trouble for teaching children that it doesnt exist or cannot co exist with science.
Now the children are going to be taught about a very sensitive matter in a classroom setting? With grades!
These issues are for a home enviorment. I understand not all homes provide it which is why i think if they are going to it should be mandatory that the parents are given the option of opting their children out.

My 5 yr old son starts Kindergarten this Fall & I really am upset about this and cannot seem to express how I'm feeling at this very moment. Is it fair to say that he knows his gender along with the difference between a boy & a girl and all that it entails to an extent of course? What about my parenting ethics? Can I not be trusted to teach my freaking children these things in life????? Grrrr....I am not okay with this at all :(
