As a teacher and a parent I am appalled at this. You have no rights telling my children what they can and can't be in a public education system. The curriculum isn't even based in fact and you are violating my religious freedom to raise kids under my rules. These conversations should be at home.

Just stop it! You have abandoned the pursuit of knowledge in education in favor of indoctrination. Stop it!

This has no place in school and it's a violation of my religious rights.

No. Keep that out of elementary school. And middle school for that matter.

I do not agree with this agenda and will by any means keep my granddaughter from learning and being brainwashed by the LGBT view.

Do not require or suggest that gender expression be a part of any elementary school program.

This is overreach by the state into parental rights with regard to their children. Particularly troubling is the state's decision to attempt to reduce public opinion input prior to its actions. I cannot support the WA public school system when it chooses to officially push political agendas such as this one, especially without accountability to the parents and taxpayers to whom they are agents.

Transgender education is NOT appropriate for the classroom.

This should not be among the standards. As a state certified teacher, I am not qualified to teach on the psychological nor physiological topics surrounding gender. Proposing that I, or other state certified teachers are qualified, is merely setting an agenda and forcing teachers to do the "dirty work". This is aside from the overall inappropriateness of having a class forum on this topic. This is taking away the rights of parents to parent their children and decide what is acceptable to expose their children to. This topic should be only discussed on a case by case scenario, and with the proper, certified (psychologist, Dr., etc) experts, not a regular classroom teacher.

Outrageous! Many will be yanking kids out of the public school system and putting them in private/Christian education. It's worth the sacrifice. Shame on you Mr. Superintendent!! You are a discredit to your professional and culpable for the destruction of young minds!

This is ridiculous, I will be homeschooling my kindergartners and second grader... the State should NEVER have a say in this! This is a issue that PARENTS AND PARENTS ONLY should be teaching their children.... I am not a steeple and will NOT be following the flock in this....

These standards are garbage. Just another reason to home school.

I am not in agreement with this new standard of teaching. Teaching of identity in schools is not why public schools were created. Public Schools were created to teach children how to read, write and do math. Not to be indoctrinated with government ideas. This is socialism!

I am opposed to teaching our children about the so called alternate life styles, which is just a ruse for the LBGT agenda. We should treat LBGT persons as sick and give them treatment for their misguided agenda.

My Granddaughter is entering Kindergarten this Fall. I am STRONGLY opposed to this egregious overreach by the OPI. Please reconsider this ridiculous curriculum.

This is the job of the parents to tell their kids and because of this my kids will be home schooled from now on
