The data coming out from the medical research says to leave the kids alone and 98% of males and 88% of females who have identity issues will identify as their birth gender if you leave them to figure it out, don't cause more issues with more kids talking about gender/sex in grade school.

What an outrage it is to have OSPI decide what is best for our children and their sexual orientation in kindergarten - are you serious? Our kids need to stay kids. They have no reason to care or be inundated with sexual propaganda at a young age. And parents are perfectly capable of managing these topics. I understand the states desire to step in at Jr high, but no little kid needs to worry about these adult issues at all. Keep your sexual agenda out of our schools!

It is totally wrong to teach children things which are against the parents belief!

I send my children to school with the trust that they will receive an education based on reading, writing, math, science, history. NOT GENDER IDENTITY. I am sickened to the core by this notion.

This is complete garbage and needs to be stopped. I will be pulling kids out of school on the days they try and push this.

It is inappropriate to put unproven, controversial, and not widely accepted practices into student curriculum. Focus on the education core topics, please, and not political agendas.

Let this be taught in the home not by the government! At an age the parents think is appropriate for their children.

NO! This is wrong! The children are not mature enough yet to understand these types of discussions. Nor are we as parents comfortable with the OSPI implementing them in the schools.

This new standard is inappropriate for young minds period. Why are the OSPI forcing this upon our young children? The right to discuss and educate our own children on these issues/subjects is our own as a parent. And we have the right to choose when to do this. Kindergarten is NOT age appropriate for this so called education.

Our kids do not need to start learning about sexual orientation at 5 years old. Lets start teaching them how to give respect to everyone and the problem will be solved without subjecting kids to grow up to fast. This should not start being taught in our schools and every person regardless of their belief should want to protect the children first and foremost.
