In Canada the healthcare system is not fiscally sustainable. Healthcare spending has consistently risen from 18% in 1980 to 43% in 2012 of total provincial revenues.
We believe that we have the opportunity to change history by bringing on an universal shift from treatment of disease to preventive care.
I would support a government that implements policies to support preventive health programs and research into even more effective ways to deliver them. By investing more in the prevention of disease I believe that Alberta can lead the way to make our healthcare system sustainable - instead of a burden.

30 years in the health care field and I couldn't be more disappointed in our system and the distinct lack of health progress.
Our current system has little to do with health promotion and is focused on disease management. That is akin to putting the cart before the horse. It is not sustainable or effective.
Integrative health care is a wonderful example of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. Let's stop putting band-aids on our healthcare system and do it right, Alberta! Let's show the rest of Canada how to bring together preventative healthcare and allopathic medicine for better results and huge cost savings.
Pure North has been a huge help for my husband and myself, who have been in the Senior's Program. I believe supporting services such as these will minimize the drain of health care dollars into treating preventable diseases.
I support Pure North because it seeks to address the root cause of illness instead of merely covering it with a band-aid as many conventional medicines and practices do. If people were equipped with the education and tools to improve their health through supplements initially and long-term through diet, the burden on the health care system would start to decrease.
We simply MUST do more preventative health care governmentally, and by being personally responsible for our own health !!!!!!
The opportunity for enhanced quality of life and living with the energy and clarity that good heath brings should instituted into law in a progressive country.
