Look at the tremendously long and successful history of marksmanship training. It dates back thousands of years with various weapons. Trying to stifle this wonderful pursuit does no service to the state of Indiana and our students.

Target shooting goes far beyond simply putting holes in paper. It is a continuing exercise in mental focus/clarity and physical control.

Most of the kids in this club will be going into the military and need to actually know how to be safe with guns, nice to learn this recreationally instead of in a combat situation

Removing an organization like this from campus in the interest of safety would be as foolish as abolishing driver education programs on the basis that cars are dangerous. If you want a safer environment, you should allow organizations that teach proper gun safety to operate freely.

The shooting sports teach more than just shooting. The teach discipline, team work, dedication, and perseverance, among many other life skills needed to be a successful person. Please make the required accommodations to permit the Purdue Rifle and Pistol Club to continue its fine work.

The rifle club is an invaluable campus resource for gun safety and sportsmanship. I am extremely disappointed that the campus would remove the club from a location without providing another, safer location

My daughter was on the Rose-Hulman rifle team. Her senior year was its last year. It’s too late for them - don’t let the same thing happen to Purdue!

I first competed at the Armory in 2002 as part of the ISRPA Indiana State Rifle Championships. I am now the head coach of the Bellmont High School Rifle Team and have been bringing my shooters to compete at Purdue since 2005. The Armory is an asset to the Purdue Rifle and Pistol Club as well as all scholastic and JROTC programs in the State of Indiana. We urge you to reopen the Armory to the Rifle and Pistol Club to further shooting sports education and competition. Thank you.

My daughter is a freshman at Purdue University. She is also in the ROTC program and the rifle team. She has worked her behind off to achieve her dream to have it ripped right out from under her. They need the use of the armory until a permanent solution is found. Leaving them out in the cold is very disrespectful to them.

You allow all the other clubs use why not the use the range for what it was intended for. This manly due to the liberal agenda running wild on college campus .
