I petition Purdue University to remedy the situation to a favorable outcome for the Rifle and Pistol Club.

Competitive shooting has significant value. One of the values is it teaches you to use your mind to its full potential. Which can translate into better study habits and higher grades.

So many freedoms are given without a thought. So many freedoms are taken without a thought. Please just hear them out! Many years have been enjoyed in the Purdue armory by athletes trying to perfect their aim. We should be encouraging athletes to achieve their best not discouraging.

My daughter is one of the members of this shooting Team. She has been the State Pistol Champion in several disciplines for the past six years. She had an athletic scholarship to Ohio State to shoot with the Nationally Ranked Pistol Team , but wanted to represent her State and the school she has lived since a child...Purdue. Please consider these students on this Team .

How is anyone going to learn firearm safety and marksmanship if schools refuse to teach?

I encourage the administration to allow the continued use of the Armory by the PRPC until a permanent solution can be found. Show your leadership by supporting an activity that encourages sportsmanship, dedication, teamwork, and hardwork. All qualities that Purdue SHOULD support!

I hope that Purdue administration understands the importance of this club to the students and alumni. My decisions to give to the University depend on the University’s decisions to support what I believe to be important. Class of 1995.

The young adults that are a part of this organization are some of the best students at Purdue. Please help these fine young adults feel a part of Purdue as they represent the best of Purdue.

Rifle and Pistol are NCAA and Olympic recognized sports. There is NO reason to push this historic team out.

Surely there's enough brainpower at Purdue to figure out a fix for the problem!

As a Purdue alum and recreational shooter, you are doing the students at Purdue, the communities of Lafayette and West Lafayette, and shooting sports in general a huge injustice. Hiding behind various "reasons" to evict the Rifle and Pistol club are nothing more than cowardice because "shooting" isn't politically correct. This is PURDUE UNIVERSITY! We lead, not bend to the will of others!

Shooting sports are important. Please find an option to allow the teams to use the range.

We come every year for the State IHSAA finals even though our daughter, 4 year title team, is long past her career. This sport changed her life, her mind set, her ability to control her body and be calm to shoot. Keep this positive for youth to continue the standard of excellence. Boiler strong.

Please don't shut down the shooting at the Armory. I think this is a great thing to have on campus and to be able to teach safety and responsibility. I am a Purdue engineering grad and an active target shooter. I know several amateur shooters that shoot in the competitions there and it would be a shame to lose this fine facility.
