I am strongly against this proposal to rezone property along Bettys Branch and Hardy McManus. Since Hardy McManus has been connected with William Few Pkwy, traffic along the road has been heavier than the infrastructure can handle...significantly extending the morning commute to work. The increase in traffic has caused more aggressive driving. Adding more houses and a 4 way intersection will increase a saturated roadway and add to the risk of an already dangerous roadway.

I am wholeheartedly opposed to the rezoning of HM Rd. We are overloaded with traffic now! Our infrastructure is insufficient for the many houses/people/cars for the planned development. The daycare already has enough traffic concerns with safety first and foremost.....without any additional traffic. We already take our lives into our hands just trying to enter HM from our subdivision.
I VOTE NO! NOT NOW! NOT UNTIL HM RD. IS PREPARED FOR THE ADDED TRAFFIC!

I am against all of the rezoning until we have our road prepared for all of the extra traffic. Traffic is atrocious as it is without hundreds more added to the mix. Especially troubling is the plan to place an enter/exit directly across the street from the Stratford enter/exit!
That will never work.....and would be accidents waiting to happen. Hardy McManus is already overcrowded as it is and a treacherous road to drive on without adding extra traffic of this multitude! Please take into consideration the lack of infrastructure for an addition of this many houses which equates drivers in many vehicles added to an overcrowded road that all of us must travel everyday!

There is no need to rezone Hardy McManus Rd. Traffic is difficult enough. Nothing else needs to be built in front of the Subdivision

As a Stratford homeowner, my husband and I greatly oppose the proposal to rezone the referenced property as well as the addition of an entrance close to the Stratford entrance.

In 1998 Betty's Branch flooded. I recall it to be nearly as wide as 100 yards. If this occurs again it will wipe out many of the home sites in the draft subdivision proposal. Wetlands like this need to be protected as well as not building homes next to a flood plain.

Proper planning is required before adding any additional housing. It seems like traffic planning has been completely neglected. The strain is already on Hardy McManus as it stands today. This also makes me concerned that school planning needs may have also been omitted. Columbia County needs to step up to the plate and prioritize the future needs of our residents with traffic, safety, schools, and regional growth.

I am very concerned about the high density of homes they are proposing in this new subdivision. As these new home owners travel along Hardy McManus Road they will negatively impact an already over strained roadway. Another concern is this property contains wetlands which will be endangered by this construction .

Unless a great plan for new roads leading in and out of Hardy McManus has been completed, how can more buildings and dwellings be added? Roads should be built before traffic is added

Like many I'm concerned about the traffic and congestion that already make travel on Hardy McManus very difficult and Riverside ES and MS are already at their max for student enrollment.

Enough is enough. With two new subdivisions already underway on Hardy McManus and no way to relieve the traffic congestion for years to come, it would seems sheer nonsense to even consider another neighborhood. There will undoubtedly be more tragic accidents on Hardy McManus due to an already overburdened roadway. A postage stamp neighborhood, no matter how "nice" they say it be will lower all of our property values. The schools that drew many to the area will suffer even greater overcrowding with no way to alleviate it for years.
It's time to get your priorities straight, Columbia County. The draw of our community is that we are close-knit with a home town feel. That is rapidly disappearing. We can grow and stay true to our roots, but you have to get the basics in place. First and foremost, make the commute on Hardy McManus safe for your residents. A resounding NO to the rezoning.
