Pump the Brakes

With the traffic problems currently affecting Hardy-McManus Road, the accidents, ungodly traffic....you would think Columbia County Zoning would consider this.

This entrance will make the road even more dangerous and crowded.

I am against rezoning along Bettys Branch from R2to PRD in order to build more homes in smaller lots. Property values will go down and Hardy McManus Rd is unsafe already, traffic will be unbearable Hardy McManus Road need widening without more homes being build..

All developers should pay for road improvements and help with school renovations or buildings for the increase in traffic and increase in students. Until then, no more new subdivisions.

Widen Hardy McManus first.

This will devalue all current real-estate and make an already over populated area dangerous.

I do not agree with the re-zoning of R1 to R2 for this area. Furthermore, I disagree with rezoning R1 lots for the sole purpose of developing an entrance to a neighborhood which is not an R1 zoning.

Until Hardy McManus is a 4-lane with traffic circles at every subdivision entrance and a 4-way light is in place at Halali-Farm/Hardy Mcmanus/Jamestown there should be NO MORE DEVELOPMENT ZONED!!!!!!!! We have already had a FATALITY this year and numerous non-fatal accidents. Enough is enough.

Please don't ruin the flow of this beautiful road!

I thought CC was not going to approve anymore dense development. Hardy Mac cannot handle the traffic.

While I am not opposed to the development in general, putting the entrance directly across Hardy McManus from Stratford makes little to no sense and would seem to be a public safety hazard. It is already nearly impossible to make a left out of that entrance during the heavier traffic times of the day. I assume that there was a traffic study required prior to submitting this request. If so, I think it should be make available to the public and if not, it should be required prior to the planning commission vote on this change. I seriously doubt a properly performed traffic study would deem this choice of entrance as ideal and or feasible with regards to volume and safety. Therefore I am in firm opposition to the rezoning of the two existing single family home lots on Hardy McManus from R1 to R2.

Along with reasons already stated. I was told told that local EPA is opposed for environmental reasons, local Transportation folks for traffic reasons, & that Riverside Elementary & Middle are concerned about overcrowding.

This proposed apartment complex is not in the best interest for any resident on Hardy McManus road

My husband and I live off of Hardy McManus and are definitely against any proposal which would increase traffic on this road and decrease the property value of our surrounding neighborhoods.

Not to mention this will be placed on or near a flood plain and marshland! I bought my property because of the nice wooded area behind my house. So much traffic that I won't even allow my teenager to cross the street!

We don't need more traffic on hardy McManus!!

I strongly oppose more development on Hardy McManus. The road is already too busy. This development will reduce property values while increasing traffic congestion and putting a strain on our schools.

Thinking of the safety of the kiddos etc.

Stop this project until the road is improved to 5 lanes

Road way can't handle traffic now. Certainly would create even more dangerous conditions for driving.
