MUST Fix the infrastructure BEFORE adding more housing! Hardy McManus is a major through fare and must be able to support heavy traffic before adding to the problem. My wife witnessed yet another accident this week at HM and Halali Farm Rd. Enough is enough!

We have already had one fatality this year on Hardy McManus (at Halali Farm Road). Is Mr. Cheeks or the county going to widen Hardy McManus to accommodate more traffic? Is Mr. Cheeks or the county going to fix the traffic issues that are already present on Hardy McManus? Our guess would be no. We are against any more subdivisions along Hardy McManus.

I urge you for the safety of our residents and for the integrity of the surrounding neighborhoods to NOT allow this rezoning to occur. Our area is already over capacity and becoming a less desirable location because of the potential expansion.

Columbia County traffic has become ridiculous in the last few years and this will severely impact Hardy McManus Rd. With all the apartments going in at I-20 and Lewiston Road, there is no need to rezone other areas for apartments. If this goes through there will be implications in the next local elections.

We have invested so much in our home, our property the renovations and landscaping that we have had performed to enhance our home - it is NOT fair to decrease and dimise the value of our home in this manner. Please, please do not place low income housing in our neighborhood. It isn't fair to those who work themselves to pieces to have something that is worth something.

Hardy McManus at its current state cannot handle additional traffic. As it stands, the road is already dangerous to exit, there are no walking paths therefore extremely dangerous to run, bike, or walk along. It is at the point where we don't want our daughter to turn left out of the subdivision due to the extreme amount of traffic traversing far beyond the speed limit which is current 45 mph. If the subdivision is forced to be built (not my preference), at least make the road accommodate the increased amount of traffic and also construct the road to allow for pedestrian and/or bicycle.

Traffic conditions on Hardy McManus Road are currently unsafe for existing residents in the area, and will be even more so if another subdivision is created directly across from the Stratford. community. Please do not allow R2 development to take place since it will have an exponentially negative impact on our traffic congestion. I also ask that R1 development only be allowed if it is accompanied by the appropriate road and traffic light infrastructure.

Even if the County were to install a traffic signal at the entrance to Stratford, the traffic volume will still be increased by the new development, bringing more congestion. A signal would back up traffic on Hardy McManus also.
The solution is to widen the road to match the section by Grace Baptist FIRST, then add well planned developments. Let's learn from what happened (excessive congestion) at the other end of William Few Parkway and not repeat those mistakes.
Bear in mind that there are already around 100 new lots in the back of Walton Woods and the new development by Grace Baptist will add at least that many homes.
The land will be developed, and that's not a problem. The problem is how, when and if the road infrastructure is ready.

Stratford has close to 500 homes. Putting another subdivision's entrance across from Stratford's entrance on an already traffic-heavy Hardy McManus isn't safe or responsible planning.

During peak traffic hour it can already take,15 minutes to turn out onto Hardy McManus. Its easy to make it worse when you don't live and drive it every day.

This development/reasoning will only create more chaos on an already too busy Hardy McManus Road. This will also devalue our homes in the nearby neighborhoods. We are adamantly against this development AND rezoning of the land across from Startford neighborhood!,,,

Our community does not NEED this, nor do we WANT this! My kids attend the daycare opposite the proposed entry to this mess and I definitely would not want to have to deal with the traffic that would result from this. Traffic is already a nightmare at different times of day.
Take your ideas further out! Keep them away from us!!!
