Stop the insanity that is out-of-control suburbia in Columbia County. Focus on the terribly lacking infrastructure and the lack of safety therein! Think ahead before expanding!

This would be disastrous for the residents that live along Hardy McManus Rd. Not only will property values decline, but there will be negative impacts to an already high volume of traffic on the access roads. Please do not allow this to pass!

I live in Highgrove and sometimes spend up to 10 minutes trying to get out into traffic, as it is nonstop, and people slip into traffic however they can (not coming to complete stops at stop signs, etc.). Who can blame them? It will only get worse with more housing off Hardy McManus. And one of the charms of this area is all the trees, and those are going down left and right.

The addition of another neighborhood in this area will just make a bad situation, traffic, worse. People moved to this area because it was a quiet residential community, this is rapidly changing and in the long run will drive people away from Evans.

We moved to Columbia county for a better lifestyle with better schools and better government infrastructure than neighboring counties. We strongly disagree wirh the building of lower income houses on smaller lots because of the type of lifestyle that we have will be sacrificed .. Let us not let one builder profit and ruin thousands of others lives ...REALLY...

I waited 7 minutes in line to turn left out of Highgrove this morning to take my child to school. More traffic is not welcome.

My primary concern is the location of the entrance to the new development. This entrance will be a mess with construction equipment and supplies going in and out. Traffic will be at a stand still during hours of commute. The proposed turn lanes are inherently unsafe. They have a viable alternative, please make them use it. Please don't let Senator Cheeks' potential profits effect your decision. Thank you.

I just moved from the Silicon Valley in California. We lived in a house on a 60 X 102ft lot for 39 years...there are 5 freeways going through the city of San Jose. This proposal is simply someone who wants money and has a developer to build for the money. High Density....lets just call it what it is...LOW INCOME HOUSING to bring in what will become a problem for the community AND especially for our schools..where do they suppose students will go to school.? The districts have been shuffled numerous times. Find another place to build the homes.
You people need to travel out to San Jose and see where this will lead...I have lived it!!

Please consider the quality of housing, safety of current residents and necessary infrastructure changes/additions required to serve new residents before approving ANY additional subdivisions in Columbia County. If you appreciate and enjoy spending the big tax dollars generated from the current homeowners in nearby subdivisions, you will want to keep those home values from depreciating due to your failures as elected officials to protect them.

At busy hours getting out of our neighborhoods can take 10plus minutes. Adding another neighborhood directly across from Stratford will only increase the time and lead to more accidents especially due to confusion over who has the right of way. Left turn lanes will decrease the view and only increase the speed and wrecks. Adding high density housing increases our school load and decreases our home values .

We drive that road daily. Don't think about the extra tax money going into your pockets that these new homes will generate. Look at the road....improve the road and the schools first. These companies will find other areas to build in the near term...delay...delay...delay...and work this in a well master planned manner. Thank you! Lifelong Resident - Jack
