The college of West Anglia are proposing to close the gym facility on Kings Lynn Campus and longterm the sports centre losing the sports hall as an indoor venue. With the impending closure of Providence Youth Centre, the town of Kings Lynn will be limited to the Council run facility at Lynnsport only for sporting events. As the Government are promoting Fitness and Healthy Living and trying to prevent Childhood Obesity particularly in the build up to the Olympics, this seems to be very short sighted. This closure will prevent students having easy access to a fitness suite whilst studing, many of those students will use the gym as part of their fitness campaign in readiness for joining the Services.
