Beaches have always been public and should still be public. We will lose tourist tax dollars without freedom to use the beaches because not all vacationers rent on the south side of 98 or 30A. Those that rent on the north side can’t go to the beach without walking a greater distance or driving to a public beach access which in turn prevents locals from finding any decent parking or any public beach to sit on. Furthermore, when a hurricane eventually comes and washes the “private “ beach sand away I sure hope those “private beach owners” don’t expect Walton County tax dollars to replenish their washed out “private beach”. We the locals know the county/state won’t allow tax dollars to replenish the turf on the nort side of 98 and 30A. Instead the home/condo owner on the north side will be expected to use their own insurance and pocket money to replace their washed out turf and therefor so should the now home/ condo owners who insisted the beaches behind their home / condo on the south side of 98/30A is private beach. Walton county nor any other Counties with beaches should be expected to maintain said beaches unless it is a section of beach that is completely for the public. Home and land owners pay homeowners insurance and flood insurance for hurricane wind and water damages to home and land therefore they best be prepared to claim it when a flood-hurricane washes their “private beach” away.

Please repeal this decision. The fences are tacky and take away from the beauty of the beaches and it’s been public for many decades. Don’t see the problem with it, however, now it is a problem

Customary Use has always existed. Everyone knows this even our elected officials and beach front property owners. The devastation this is and will cause to Walton County. Remember when you vote!

We have been going to these beaches since 1991 and bought property in Florida because we think it is so beautiful! I hate to see this happen to our beach!
