Please refrain from cutbacks from our fire dept. as I'm sure there are a lot more options to choose from to save our tax dollars. Public safety I believe should NEVER be compromised in this case.

In addition to domestic calls, our fire fighters are often called upon by large industries in this city when a company's internal emergency services needs additional help to contend with a catastrophic event. For the sake of public safety, I am urging our city officials to reconsider cutbacks to our Fire Services.

Many options to reduce costs to our city budgets without compromising safety of the public.

First Respnders are of utmost importance in our city. Safety should be the first and primary concern here. We believe that by cutting our Firefighters by 25% the City is putting our residents at risk.

My safety and that of my family outway any savings that the city thinks it is making by their decision. What value can you put on a Life?Mine or one of our firefighters. All is well until there is a major fire and then it is too late. We deserve to at least have an independent assessment done .

I had occasion to call the fire department in December and appreciated their prompt and professional help. I would hate to see their numbers reduced.

Wakeup Sault Ste. Marie, Support your local firefighters and our community. Our firefighters provide a myriad of services not evident until you or your family needs assistance. Not only do these cuts affect us as citizens but the firefighters themselves. There are regulations and legislation providing safety for the crews. Is this another , You know your from the Sault when our representatives act and don't provide full disclosure for public safety. As a senior I know I can not rest easy knowing that if a fire breaks out that I saved a few pennies for the 25 percent cut in services. Let's do the math, don't worry no true math skills are required . Fire hall A has 3 men, Fire hall B has 3 men. If I have a fire and crew A arrives with a platoon chef, driver and man on the hose, I will have the good fortune to wait for Crew B. Two crew must enter a fire not one lone firefighter. So ask yourself this, what do I have to lose ?

If you need cutbacks do it in other areas, not where it will put peoples lives at risk.

I feel it is more important to save lives and property than dollars. Maybe the city needs the extra cash for the new parking meter devises that everyone seems so fond of.

What is the problem with council not wanting a comprehensive review. I guess too much information is dangerous.

We need at least 4 firefighters on each truck for safe, efficient response to fires.

I am sick and tired of government putting money above people's lives and safety. Cut backs in these areas are never beneficial in any way.

Is a comprehensive risk assessment too much to ask? Our elected officials should be ashamed!

This is certainly not where I want to see cutbacks!!

I don't think that it is unreasonable to have a Comprehensive Risk Assessment done. I believe that is pretty much all they are asking

Time to worry about our friends and neighbours. As the average age of residents becomes higher, why does the onus of safety fall on them

I live in an older apartment building that I feel is not really safe. Please do not put people in danger.

I live in a large condo complex 303 MacDonald ave unit 509.I am over 80 years old and fear that the reduction in the firefighting crews adds to the chances of me and my wife not making out of the building in the event of a major fire.
