To

The Hon'ble President of India,

Most respectfully, as you are aware of the fact that the peace loving people of Assam has vehemently protested against the controversial CAA, 2019 as it poses serious threat to the socio-cultural existence and demographic landscape of Assam and it's indigenous people.

During this democratic protests, the KMSS leader, Mr. Akhil Gogoi and many other youth of Assam are being detained and slapped with various cases and they are at present under judicial custody. That Sir, these leaders are son of soil of Assam and very much passionate about Assam and it's indigenous people. They often raise their voice for the cause of the indigenous people of Assam and the oppressed class and are associated with various democratic mass movements for long time. Their actions/ activities were never directly or indirectly against the Unity and Sovereignty of India.

We, the people of Assam, are very much concerned about the Well being and Liberty of Mr. Akhil Gogoi and the other detainees of the anti CAA movement in Assam. The people of Assam has an apprehension that the draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (amended) will be mis-used against these detainees as part of political vendetta. We fear, the policy of suppression and retaliation against these patriotic mass leaders will have serious socio political repercussion in Assam in future.

Under the above circumstances, we, the undersigned people of Assam, do hereby humbly request you, as the Head of the Nation, to kindly discharge Mr. Akhil Gogoi and all detainees of Assam anti CAA movement from all the cases framed against them and kindly do the needful to release them from custody immediately.
