We love our teachers. We believe they work hard. However, they are not the only ones doing so. Most of us in this community work well beyond a 9-5 schedule, because that is the difference between a salaried employee and an hourly employee. We appreciate that our teachers come in early, stay late and give our kids their all. However, they are already, without a new contract, at the top of their pay scale for their chosen profession. The demands that they are making regarding pensions and healthcare are outrageous. No one has that! Everyone of us is paying more for these benefits. They need a reality check. They should be in the classrooms doing their jobs instead of making our children pay. This strike solves nothing. But, we will not be held hostage by the union. We are absolutely willing to wait.

Students education should not be bargaining chip. So sad that student teacher relationships permanently damaged. Hard to respect teachers that opt for picket line vs teaching and negotiating a contract.

I appreciate the teachers and everything they have done for my children, HOWEVER on this matter I feel I must support the board. Willing to wait if we must, but would like those involved to work things out now!

We Support the Board! STAND STRONG AND DON'T GIVE THEM ANYTHING THEY ARE DEMANDING! And, yes, I am a PT resident, unlike the majority signing the "other" petition!

We love our teachers and value all that they do for our children. Do we want them to get a fair contract? Of course. Do we feel the need for them to get everything they ask for? Does anyone deserve that? Imagine what our economy would be like then. I love my children and hope everything works out for the best...until then...I am willing to wait .

We stand with the school board! The demands of the union/teachers are unjustified! The board should NOT give in and we are willing to wait!!! It is appalling to think we had entrusted our kids to the very people who have now turned their backs on them. There is not one reason they can't negotiate while continuing to teach, like many other districts are doing/have done. Shame on every one of the teachers that voted to strike!!!

String it out to the point. Teaching is a talent, so when a teacher walks away from teaching shows greed beyond means. Shame on you

We as a community including the teachers and administration need to come together to make the best decisions for being a successful and sustainable community. We all the area including the schools and the teachers but the union needs to look at the business world and see how good they have it and their demands are just unfair! I WILL WAIT! Let's get back to school for the kids!
