Do not give in. These healthcare asks are insulting.

Willing to wait!! I Stand with the Board. Don't give in to the petulant bully tactics. Negotiation means each side has to offer to give a bit. District has by retracting the additional work days. What has the Union offered as a concession? They have the audacity to not want to absorb the increases in Health Care costs that all of us are experiencing due to the ACA, when their Union supports the party that is responsible for the mess.

Side note Just reviewed my options on a healthcare plan for my beautiful and healthy 55 year young wife $407 per month (just her) for catastrophic insurance from UPMC and that was our clearly best option! Huge deductibles Big co pays Extremely limited and costly scripts She lost her much better Highmark plan last year that ran $146 and had lower deducts and co- pays because it did not meet Obama care standards- it lacked "lactation services" - I offered to sign any waiver presented to waive any pregnancy clauses - figured since I had a vasectomy a dozen years ago and that if she did get pregnant at 55 her new boyfriend could handle! No go So. - thank you teachers unions for 100% voting records / endorsements for Wolf and Obama - thank you for royally screwing up my family's situation - thank you ? For demanding we pay the increased costs due to your own behavior Did the union offer to assist the district by researching / accepting lower cost plans with SOME deductibles?

I stand with the board!

I love our PT teachers, but I do believe they are overreaching based on our current economic conditions. The district can't pay what they can't afford. They only way to provide what is being asked is to raise our taxes which will lower our property values. #standwithboard

I stand with the board. I'm trying to make the best of the situation. We are cutting box tops to help pay for the teachers medical insurance on dime at a time. At least we won't have to chip in for teachers gifts this holiday season or at the end of the year. Putting that $$ toward child care during the walk out. Hard to feel sorry for the bullies drinking their $5 Starbucks and waving to me as I drive the kids to the sitter.

I believe most teacher do not want the strike. It are the kids and families that will pay the price.

Welcome to 2015! We all must pay for the over taxation and regulation of health care. Be thankful for your well paid, guaranteed jobs. We appreciate the efforts and hard work of our teachers but be real. Our kids are suffering due to this greed. How disappointing!

Thank you for exposing the big irony here! No bullying in school unless you are the teacher's union!

I passionately support the PTS Board, Administration, Parents and Students in this outrageous standoff against union bullies. Willing to wait, indeed!!!

I am a retired resident of Peters Township and have been living in the community for over 23 years. I encourage the school broad members to stay firm on your current contract negotiations with the school teachers union. I urge you and your colleagues not to give in to unreasonable and unaffordable demands. Quality education is very important to have available in our community. That being said, the position that are taken by the teacher unions are often unreasonable and expensive. I am sure that is most likely the case in the current situation. What do they have to lose...nothing. The will get paid there full salary and benefits since the full 180 days of classroom instruction will happen under state law. Who will lose, the community. The students will lose, the education process being disrupted will have a negative effect on the learning process. The residents with children in school will be disrupted, as they will have to make special arrangements to care them if they work or have other commitments. And last, all residents will lose due to higher costs that will have to be funded by higher taxes. When is enough, enough. The days of excess when the community was growing and the tax coffers were growing are gone. Now we have to manage the budgets within the limits of the revenue available to us. Continual tax increases to fund unreasonable and expensive demands of the union cannot be tolerated. Respectfully, Michael Quinn

I suppirt the board too. In this day and age, we need to be grateful to have a full time job. I work for a health insurance company and my benefits aren't even as good as what the teachers currently have. Recently my company enforced an 8 hour work day after it being 7.5 he day for probably over 20 years....us employees were TOLD 'this is changing, get ready'....it didn't matter if we liked it or not, it still happened.

Living in this district for 20 years, I have seen first hand the caliber of the teachers, parents, administration, and support staff that this District is blessed with. I believe that the majority of all of those people do not believe this strike is the answer to solve anything. Someone (or more likely, a group of someones, from all parties), needs to be brave enough to stand-up and say, "Enough". The Union tactics that worked in the 1930's and 1940's, with uneducated employees are not necessary now. We all deserve better. I know and love many teachers - some family, some friends. I know this is hard. Please - Fix it for the kids.

I'm not a parent but a former stundent of Peters Twp. I'm sympathetic towards the current students that are not receiving the excellent education I did through out my four years at Peters Twp. High School. Please find a resolution soon.

Hope kids get back to school soon and no more interruption. Kids are innocent victims in this and no parent should have to go through this kind of stress. There should be a law to protect the students whenever such disagreement comes in the way of their learning.

With a heavy heart, I am signing this petition. I cannot believe our teachers have abandoned their students. With 2 PTSD grads and 2 still in PT schools, I cannot believe it has come to this. I have reviewed the NEA strategy for negotiations and it all makes sense now...."Mislead your own membership". So incredibly sad.
