We're willing to wait. The demands of the Union are absurd given the state of employee benefits in 2015.

Teachers should pay for healthcare.
Level 16 to level 17 increase seems meaning less. I believe raises should even and performance based

Stand up to these shameless, spoiled union hacks....the unions across the state are watching and hoping you cave. Teachers should not be allowed to strike! The should be given the same offer President Reagan gave the air traffic controllers in 1981: You have 48 hours to return to work, or you will be terminated.

SHAME ON TEACHERS!!!. Please hire new teachers, those who care in educating our kids. The union teachers should be taught a lesson the meaning of UNEMPLOYMENT. They should be happy that they have a job.

We stand with the Board also!
I have a child with Special Needs and before this strike happened we were fighting a battle everyday to get her to school on time! I feel that now she thinks she has won the battle since we have been off because of this strike! Even though this has been very hard all around we should not give in now!

What poor role models for our students! You don't like something? Walk out and throw a temper tantrum! Isn't this a behavior that you would challenge in our students.? And now they all see their teachers demonstrating such a horrible display. Where is your character, teachers? You are ripping our community apart. We have been blessed with many wonderful teachers here, but let's face it- some should not be educating our students. They don't care and/or cannot even return a parent email or phone call. Teachers need to be held accountable too. Evaluations help in this area, and they are a reality in almost ALL work settings. But the union is fine defending anyone and everyone, including teachers who should be gone, and teachers who have zero ethics. To all of our GREAT teachers- you know this to be true and must be frustrated by this as well. Do the right thing for the GREATER GOOD!

Retired. Not fair to rent our homes via property taxes to watch teachers get automatic increase in pensions!

The demands are completely disconnected with reality of our times,,, the healthcare costs are going higher by the year, and Pensionable jobs are a vanishing breed in the USA. The demands are so 1950's . And at the end it's the tax payers being gouged .. Sorry teachers,, we can't agree on this one.
( my comments will not be liked by the teachers , I am sure

I am in support of the PT school board to hold the line, even if it means we go to school every year until June 30 and never have any holidays. Do not be bullied. There are many people in this community that do not want you to cave. Many more than will add their names to this petition. It is just that people are afraid to speak their mind, for fear of what the bullies will do when school resumes later this month.

After reading some comments from teacher supporters I felt compelled to comment. How safe can the teachers keep our kids when they aren't even required to have CPR? Bet there aren't many that paid to do it on their own. Other staff members are required to have it. Maybe the decrease in college students going into education is not because it's difficult, but that there aren't many teaching jobs available. I'd like a job where I could work 10 months and have long holiday breaks with my family, earn up to $100,000/year, work in a great and safe school district, incredible health benefits for next to nothing, and at the end of my career get a pension. Our intelligent children work hard to get where they are. They should get some credit for that.

I would like to see ptsd start cyber education with a new staff that has cyber school skills so that all of the students in grades k to 12 still have a choice to attend all classes async mode from home portals without the current union staff. A new cyber school internal to peters allows the board to hire the best cyber teachers to run such a new program. The new cyber staff could be hired from the outside or from qualified current staff. By allowing parents and students the choice of async education that is not bound to a physical classroom , then the students and parents are not held to the conditions of this type of strike.
