I'm sick of this era of entitlement. I will gladly go in and teach myself for the same wage they are earning. -Probably with better results!

Please be fiscally responsible. Do NOT give into these unrealistic demands. Peters Township needs to keep a reasonable tax base in order to remain an outstanding community and to attract new residents. If the school taxes are not affordable, we will lose existing as well as potential homeowners.

This Union has made a grave miscalculation on the resolve of this community. We stand with the board for as long as it takes. These teachers need to come to their senses, realize how great they have it and get back to work. I hear form them about average salary in Peters Township relative to their salary????? What ... How about comparing themselves to other teachers across the country. They are at the very top . It is shear lunacy what they are asking for.

Fire them all and replace them with teachers who care more about the students than their damn union. You have to wonder how good these teachers really are if they listen to a bunch of thugs .

The teachers need to get back to work. I drive past their picket every day and it doesn't seem as if many support them.

These teachers should be ashamed of themselves. Average starting salary is 71k. For 9'months a year? Get lost. My wife has a PHd in a medical field and doesn't earn that. Freaking joke

I actually believe they are setting the best example anyone could set: even better than you. The teachers stand up for what they believe in and won't be pushed down by the board or even you: parents who want to involve themselves in situations that aren't theirs. You, in the other hand, are setting a bad example for your children. Involving yourself in problems that aren't yours isn't a very good example, I'd say. But sure, pin the blame on the teachers. Unions had their chance (when desparatly needed in the 30's and 40's when labor was unfair. But the conditions of present day "labor" is no where near what it once was.
Many teachers, not all, use this as a crutch to get through their careers.
During the "town hall" meeting, where the teachers tried to bully the public by bringing in teachers from other districts, it was heard that the teachers appeared jealous that "some" families in PT have multi-million dollar homes and THOSE people should use THEIR disposable income to help the budget shortfall.
Go back to college and get a different degree of you want to make more $. Don't "bully" the district into thinking you "deserve" it.
You don't; not anymore than the rest of us.

Our township needs to get this right. We need to attract and maintain competent teachers while managing fiscal responsibility. I want the strike to end, but not at the expense of our wonderful school district, so I am willing to wait.
