When this author and your magazine speak out about mob mentality, about the disproportionate punishment inflicted on black bodies for slight transgressions, including loss of job, life, and children (through foster care), etc, perhaps this conversation will be relevant. In the real world in which we live, this reeks of total disregard for the lives of black folks and total elevation of the lives of white folks. Take it down.

I cannot take any discussion of “Karens” seriously that ignore the racial and historical context of white women vilifying Black people (especially Black men) and the trauma and consequences that come with that. We’ve been arrested, lynched, run out of communities and homes, and more. Karens’ biggest consequences are what? Losing a book deal? Fired from a six figure job? A few viral memes? This author really took one side of the story and turned Karen into the victim as if they can’t just stop this phenomenon by not calling the cops on Black people who simply inconvenience them.

Black lives are literally at risk by Karens who intentionally seek to cause harm by calling the police on Black people living. That should be the story. I will gladly withdraw my membership from this directory if this demand is not met.

This is ridiculous. The author of this article doesn’t take into account that these “Karen’s” never take into account the dangers they are putting the person they are calling the police on in. Their very biased and unwarranted calls to the police literally place the person’s life in danger, but we are supposed to feel bad because their life is “ruined” as a result. Naw! It is their job to figure out how to repair the damage they’ve done, not ours! Remove this article supporting a backwards stance and doing nothing to propel the social justice movement!

At this point, the continued endorsement of tone deaf and inappropriate content that belittles the experiences of Black people shows where the values of this organization are. Remove the publication and all the others that have been called out and vet those making these decisions.

Talking about the plight of Karens with no statements regarding the dangers Karens put us in is dangerous! How about first acknowleding that the examples of "Karen actions" may have caused violence and death? We should be vilifying them as we are responsible to keep our communities safe!

Please consider removing the article about “Karen” is painful to read and it’s inaccurate. Try reading “Waking up White” and re read this article. maybe you and your publishers will get it how offensive this article is.

The originals nap article referenced is abjectly terrible. I know that PT has always had loose standards where editorials have been concerned- it's unfortunately not the first time I've encountered an article this profoundly bad. PT, it's time to join us in 2020 (or realistically, 2005 or so). Raise your standards for editorials to reflect a modern baseline of education, sensitivity, and equity.

This article is deplorable, negates the experiences of the BIPOC community, and rationalizes racism by white women

This article and the need to defend why it is disrespectful, diminishing, and a overall slap in the face is the problem!

As a member of the psychological sciences community, I demand that this be taken down. It’s far too similar to that time you published an article proclaiming that “Black women were genetically unattractive”. God forbid that a Black person or other POC read this and decide to not seek help from our community. We are supposed to be a safe space!
