I also no longer advertise here and am glad. Please remove this article and begin to elevate and center BIPOC voices. It is past time.

As a social worker, I am appalled by the irresponsibility continually demonstrated by Psychology Today. I have written you letters in the past suggesting that you consider offering more diversity in the photos and articles of your magazine, along with expressing how I find it inappropriate to see Trump Campaign ads on your FB page. This recent article takes the cake. How can you purport to be an organization whose mission is to support mental and emotional health, when you are clearly biased and discriminatory in how you represent the information you put out into the world? Shame on you.

I thankfully no longer advertise my services on Psychology Today. The decision they made to publish this opinion piece reinforces that decision.

Writing an open letter to the 'Karens', reprimanding their behavior would demonstrate an understanding of the broader issue. Otherwise, it seems as if the 'Karens" are the victim.

Seeking removal of the article about calling out "Karen" is wrong.

This is an absolutely white privileged article. How embarrassing to have this published in the mental health community.

Karen's and other racist vilify themselves! Now it's harmful to whites to be held accountable, but Blacks are supposed to just deal with racism! Don't let anything go, reveal all Karen's and racist behavior. If they stop we have nothing to confront.

As a clinical social worker and psychology today member I am appalled that PT would have published something that misses the entire point of systematic racism, which is what is often being called out in posts about “Karen’s”. Do Better, PT.

White people who are angry because their entitled (often racist) behavior is being given a shorthand reference need to practice introspection - not be given space to whine in respected publications.

Even getting psychological treatment is a bastion of the privileged and white. The people that need this help even more than that? The BIPOC community, in direct part because of the privilege and oppression of the white supremacist view that informs much of modern psychology. In other words, do you seriously have that little self awareness? What the HELL were you thinking publishing that?

Please view every single item you publish through a social justice lens centering on BIPOC folks and other marginalized people. You should have known better than to give space to this editorial content which upholds the white centered perspective we should be moving away from.

It’s ok for folks to be uncomfortably aware of deeply engrained harmful behavior. It’s the only way change can happen, Psychology Today.

Harmful behavior does not need to be accepted. It it's vilified intrinsically.
