PSU Chatpad Support
The Xbox 360 chatpad was released in 2007 after the release of Phantasy Star Universe (the first version), thus in-game use of the Microsoft Chatpad was not supported. The sequel, The Ambition of the Illuminus was released on Aug 26, 2008. It is now February 2010 and as of today, there continues to be no support for the Microsoft Chatpad. Sega has no excuse for the lack of support for the device. They advertise the PSU Texter which cannot be found for sale anywhere online or in stores. They only offer PARTIAL support for USB keyboards. It is inconvenient and illogical to use such a device when Microsoft offers no documented support for it, thus it does not work properly. The PS2 version of the game has proper USB keyboard support. With the approaching server closures for the Playstation 2 and PC versions of the game, more players are switching to the Xbox 360 side to continue playing. That said, there is an expected increase in the number of users and demand for support of the Microsoft Chatpad. They owe their loyal PSU fans, that are being forced to convert to a different system or discontinue playing the game online altogether, better treatment than this. I propose that Sega develop a proper system update for the Phantasy Star Universe series that enables the use of the Microsoft Chatpad. If you agree, please sign this petition.
