Looking ahead to the fall 2015-16 academic year, there has been a change in housing policy regarding the age required to live off campus. The guideline is listed as follows: "For the 2015-16 academic year any student who is 20 years of age on or before May 31st, 2015 is eligible to live off campus."Their reasoning is that the PSU policy states that students are required to live on campus if space is available.I'm sure there are many of you out there that are affected by this whether you are someone who cannot live off campus due to the mere fact that you weren't born on or before May 31st, but also for those of you who had housing plans with people who do not meet the age requirement as well. This should not be based on age, but instead based on credits,GPA, or something that actually matters rather than when you happen to have been born. Keep in mind that for students who are out of state are already paying a lot more to come here and living on campus adds more to this expense than living off campus. For those of you whose plans have been flipped upside down, have had a lot of stress brought upon you by this, or just want to help some fellow classmates out, I urge you to sign- it's a small step that could really help us change this!
