It has been brought to the attention of many students at PSHS that it is against district policy to decorate our graduation caps, even though we are allowed to keep them after our ceremony. As the class of 2017 we believe that we should be able to stand united one last time, but also express ourselves as individuals the way we have been taught to the past 12 years. Please sign our petition to help us express to administration how we feel about this situation! Thank you!

Really? What is the harm as long as it is not obscene or offensive. I decorated my high school, associate and bachelor degree caps...and as another petitioner has stated... the caps at the end get tossed up anyways...let them express their individuality as we raised them.

My daughter is graduating PSHS 2017. I am in full support of my daughter's first steps to independence. We allow them to make decisions about their futures, why not allow them some decisions as to decorating their caps tactfully & tastfully? The kids should have it their way! They have earned it!! Congratulations 2017 PSHS seniors!!!

When I graduated last year, we weren't aloud to decorate our caps either. The students who did decorate them had to take them off before the ceremony because of it. Plainfield South should let there students decorate their caps because they can show off their legacy of what they leave behind.

This is exactly what I would have wanted if I was still going to south. It's a way to express yourself and how much you have grown over the past 12 years and how much you want to continue to grow.

I am a parent of a student at PSHS and see no problem with this. Hope the graduates are able to express themselves on their special day!!

This is the day we have been working towards for so long, and we should be able to be individuals in this day, We each worked hard, let's not just celebrate the group but ourselves as well.

It needs to be school appropriate and in good taste.
