Look, I was sitting around just like every other day and I was browsing YouTube and I watched a video about Fallout 3 and New Vegas - and man I got an itch. I wanted to play them so bad but, well, with a broken PS3 I can't. I've kept all of my old games and even kept the broken PS3. Microsoft is a great company and they gave what the fans wanted, and with all these new consoles coming out like the PSNeo and the Xbox Scorpio they could at least let us play our old games. Sony said they must look towards the future and other excuses why they haven't given it to us, but how will we ever move towards the future if we don't learn from the past. And even though they say that they decided to let us buy PS2 games. And then they intoduced renting and streaming PS3 games, and being someone that doesn't have the money or the fast internet to use it I think its ridiculous we can't just buy the games or use the ones we already have and play them. So basically sign this petition if you want Sony to hear us and let us play OUR PS3 games on the PS4.

I fully agree with this petition! I own a lot of ps3 games and in order for me to play them I have to either rent them from psn (and not be able to use my save data) or i can hook up my ps3 and start playing bit then I usually have to wait on an update or what not. Why not just have one system do it all?
Adding backwards compatibility will not just make many gamers like me happy, but it will make the PS4 a complete and amazing system, head and shoulders above any competition.
I want to play PlayStation 1, PlayStation 2, and PlaySation 3 games on the PlayStation 4 disc based not digitally cause if it's digital PS4 is not a real PlayStation console in my opinion.
I wanna be able to play old classics like metal gear solid from 1 through to 5 on my ps4 without having to fuss around digging up old consoles and having to switch between them when I play! Don't understand how they can't just add a simple function like backwards compatibility!
The Atari was backwards compatible and so was the 1st generation PS3.....and the PS2 I think......The PS4 should be as well

Its unfair that competitors get classic games brought to new gen systems as ps4 shows no interest in this . we don't want just indie games we want the ones that made PlayStation famous without having to pay new game prices
