THE PROBLEM

Eric Ulis has actively pursued getting access to DB Cooper’s clip-on tie in FBI custody several times over the years. This has included leveraging personal relationships within the FBI, and filing FOIA requests, all which have been unsuccessful.

THE SOLUTION

Therefore, it appears that the only avenue left is to take the FBI to court and to pressure them publicly to grant access to Eric and a DNA recovery expert, for an hour, so that they may be able to retrieve a sample of DB Cooper’s DNA from within a small metal casing that secures a small metal shaft, that is part of a spindle apparatus on the tie. From photos and conversations regarding the tie, it appears that this area has never been opened or tested by the FBI. Thus, this discovery has the potential to solve the case if DNA can be extracted and sequenced.

To that end, Eric intends to file in US District Court in Washington, DC on February 21st, 2023. Additionally, Eric is encouraging people to sign this petition requesting that access be granted to DB Cooper’s tie for Eric and a DNA specialist.
