What does this mean in practice? It means the murder, expulsion or conversion of the Jewish and Christian inhabitants of Israel.
It means that women and girls are forced into marriages and into giving up their rights and that gays and lesbians are murdered.
So, this is not just a shirt, it is a sign and a wish for mass violence.
No school should support this and kudos to them for not permitting it. .

If you come to Canada with the intention of trying to change our lifestyles to yours than stay in your own Countries.
This was a great Country until they started letting in the wrong types of people.

The problem with your hoodie is that you tried to replace a map of Israel with a map of Palestine.
You cannot effectively advocate for the rights of Palestinians by trying to erase an entire country and an entire people.
If you want to show solidarity that is truly meaningful, take a stand against how the terror group hamas:
- Dragged the people of Gaza into a war by committing the Oct. 7/23 genocide on Israel.
- Stole billions of dollars in aid meant for its citizens to build a massive tunnel infrastructure UNDER its citizens from which to commit violence in order to ENDANGER its own citizens.
- Fires rockets at Israel from WITHIN areas in Gaza with schools, hospitals and residences.
- Steals food aid meant for Gazans to create a famine for which it blames Israel, and then sells the food back to Gazans at exorbitant prices.
- Executes Gazans who refuse to cooperate with their terror agenda.
- Throws LGBTQ people off buildings.
Ask yourself how the Palestinian leaders turning down EVERY SINGLE OFFER of land and peace offered over the last several decades has supported the Palestinian cause.
Stop trying to erase Israel and start advocating for a solution that recognizes the inherent rights of both Palestinians AND Israelis.

You are correct. Unfortunately, in this case it did not adhere to the code of conduct. The petition explanation did not explain the whole story. The MSA is a school club, essentially, and has to follow certain rules. They printed and sold sweatshirts, from what I've heard, with a map of Israel on it. While some people want to imagine that Israel is called Palestine, Israel is Israel and it is not a Muslim country. This, for a school club to be selling and wearing shirts with a map of a country that is not theirs, the optics is exactly what everyone is thinking. It is not free Palestine, it is we will take over Israel. So, the school board, obviously cannot allow a shirt calling for the ethnic cleansing or genocide of the Jewish people, and had to ban the shirts. Now many people will argue that Israel is committing atrocities in Gaza. If the Jewish Club printed shirts with a map of Gaza belonging to Israel it would be taken down just the same. The reality is that we are in Canada and middle/high schools are not a place for this kind of politics. If you want to protest a war, protest a war. But implying that Israel is called Palestine is either altering reality to benefit the narrative of one side or calling for the destruction of another group - which is exactly what everyone is accusing Israel of doing. We don't call Canada Canadian occupied Mohawk land and we don't call Turkey Occupied Constantinople. Israel is fully developed country, look at any map.

In times of conflict, it’s more important than ever to affirm the humanity and dignity of every individual—rather than judge them by their identity.
