As a Jamaican who fell in love with the French language when I was introduced to it in the First form of high school and later had the privilege of spending a year studying in France where I acquired fluency, I fully support this petition and trust that it will receive a very favourable response. This skill has allowed me to interact and communicate with and learn from people from all over the francophone world. I even had the privilege of translating an interview between an American and a French-language radio station at an international conference.
PLEASE, Honourable Ministers, I implore you to do everything to empower these deserving students of the beautiful French language who will be great and effective ambassadors of both Jamaican and French cultures for many years to come.
Thanking you sincerely.

Il faut que le gouvernement de France fasse tout son possible pour que les jeunes jamaïquains (et bahamiens) bénéficient de ce programme. D'ailleurs, les petits français bénéficieront eux-aussi.

The English Language Teaching Assistantship Programme has given and continues to give young, bold Jamaicans who wish to break away from traditional career paths the opportunity to make their dreams a reality. Moreover, how can we forget that the programme also allows these individuals to proudly represent their culture while fulfilling a dream?

Loosing such close relationship with a European Country of its Calibra is no step forward. Let's work to maintain our foreign ties.

Jamaicans excel wherever we go. Closing the embassy will close the door for many Jamaicans especially our language enthusiasts.

Please facilitate these persons being able to apply for their visas in Jamaica. The airfare alone to France is quite expensive. Thank you.

The move to Panama would virtually rule out the participation of Jamaicans in this fine programme. Please consider an alternative.

Please consider another option for language assistants that would not oblige them to travel to Panama.

It would be great if a less expensive option could be developed to keep this prorgram in place
