There is far more that binds France to Jamaica than exchanging visits. In fact France has played an important role in our history and culture. But nothing will loosen these bonds quicker than if young people cannot maintain the exchanges necessary to sustain and deepen them.

I participates in the programme 13 years ago. Aside from the birth of my children, my two years in Guadeloupe can be classified as the experience of my life. It would be a shame to rob other Jamaicans of this experience.
Merci

The importance of this opportunity for young Jamaicans cannot be over stressed. It would be a real shame as with the present economic situation of most jamaicans a trip to panama for business would be impossible.

It is so sad to hear that the Consulate is leaving Jamaica and that people wanting to go to France will have to travel to Panama in order to obtain a visa. It is the dream of so many Jamaicans, including myself and many members of my family, to go to France. The closure of the Consulate would create even greater challenges - financially and logistically - for persons wanting to go there.

We value the opportunity in Jamaica and our relationship has absorbed the French culture and its language.
Please do your best to keep the status quo.

This will also affect the involvement of scientists like me who need to travel often to French Antilles for scientific reasons. I hope this issue will be solved and we can still continue getting our visas from Kingston.
