This has been a useful programme that has helped both Jamaica and France and it should be allowed to continue with as much ease as possible for Assistants to access visa service.

Nous avons des etudiants qui ont besoin de ce service et notre voisin Haiti est francophone et la maitrise de la langue ne peut qu'ameliorer les relations entre les deux paysdonc nous avons besoin de francophone ici en Jamaique.

It is very important to have the French Consulate remain in Jamaica for the reasons cited in the petition. I support it wholeheartedly.

Sirs, many Jamaicans have benefited from the Jamaica French relations, especially as it relates to students who participate in the English Language Teaching Assistantship programme. If the consulate closes, then many persons would not have the opportunity to participate as the cost to go to Panama is prohibitive for many poor Jamaicans. Please Sirs, do assist in this regard. This programme is essential to the relations that France and the rest of the English speaking Caribbean have. It would be detrimental to shut it down, so we are asking that it remains open.

We need the influence of the French consolate on the awareness of French as a language in Jamaica. Please don't leave. We need you!

Please reconsider this decision. Many people would not be able to benefit from the excellent assistantship programme. Both Jamaica and France stand to lose, though in varying degrees.
