We were promised at the time of purchase of our block of land in providence that we would have access to the reservoir. That was 3 years ago.

Hi Shane, we have just moved into Providence and we would love to see access to the park area. I love the idea of a swipe card access for resident or even a rotating door for pedestrian access could be another suggestion, similarly as they have in the zoo.

i bought land in the providence on the account that we would have access to the park , i feel like i have been deceived by the developer and the council .

Your story is similar to mine, however I am prepared to go the distance on this one .

We often have large gatherings of friends and it would be great if we had easy access to the park, i understand the issue of privacy and security for the people that live on the brink of the property and i think that the swipe card option would be a great idea, or a code lock in which every house is provided with a code number to access the park. this would eliminate the access to outsiders, also like the Aitken College gate, there could be access only between light hours of the day, if we really can't have those secure options. But otherwise i think it is a great idea :)

Both my Husband and I think it would be a great idea, for all the families who own or are buying their homes on the Providence Estate, should be given a key that can not be 'recut', so that this key can not be shared or given out to anyone else. Or as Michelle said 'a swipe card'. Sue & Kev Grool

We live in the Providence Estate, Greenvale and we want a 'providence residents pedestrian access to Greenvale Reservior Park. Maybe a key that cannot be cut, given to each property who owns or is buying the home they live in (0n this estate ONLY).

I agree and support this petition in all aspects. We feel compared to other land prices in the area we paid a premium for views and access to the reservoir, its was certainly heavily advertised by the developers, and we have never been able to access it directly. I agree that access would be awesome but it would need to be somehow controlled and limited to residence of Providence as I believe Aitken College have achieved with a swip card system. Well done Shane.

I support that access be given, as promised.

My house faces directly onto the park, and whilst we'd probably use the park if we had easier access, I'm not sure I'd be happy if the park goers had easy access to me. I see that someone has mentioned a swipe card but card find any more information about it, or other suggested ways of controlling resident vs day tripper access.

I agree with Melbourne Water's stance especially with parking and security of the water supply. However I'm sure there is a way for residents to access the park without compromising all that. The idea of a swipe card with access to the park sounds good! Thanks for starting this.

We were told that access would be available via the providence estate which is the main reason my family bought land and built our family home here. To have a family where we can bbq and enjoy the reservoir. Unfortunately this did not happen. I believe a swipe card to a gate only for providence residents should be made available.

Very disappointed how Parks Victoria have let the residents down by denying us access. Parks Victoria have double standards by allowing 24/7 access to anybody who wants to drive in before the park closes and stay there for as long as they want. Don't bother ringing "MonJon" Security whose name appears on the fence boundary as they don't monitor the park. Good example.....many groups of people gathered there on New Year's Eve. Double standards by Parks Victoria !!

I also agree with the other comments, we would also like access for walks with children etc.

I agree with all comments. I too bought in this estate with the main selling point being access to the reservoir and an onselling feature when I eventually sell my home. I am into health and fitness and love our exercise park but would have loved walking and spending time in the reservoir parklands. Like others, I was looking forward to having a dog and taking it for walks and play in the Greenvale Reservoir Park. I like the idea of having a swipe card access as this would deter non residents of Providence parking and accessing the park from within our estate, whereas a latch gate allows easy access. We all paid inflated prices for this privilege so good luck with the petition.
