The church and many in surrounding neighborhoods are opposed to the rezoning of the parcel from R3 to UR2. The petition gives the reasons.

I am against the rezoning. The proposal is too dense for the property and neighborhood. Traffic grows more congested each day as non-stop development up and down Providence Rd. adds to safety and density concerns.

Congested housing immediately adjacent this historic church is out of character with the location.

Please, no more traffic in this area. It's already hard enough when school is in session. The land is too small for townhomes. You'd be squeezing them in just to make a few $$. It's not worth the damage to the area and increase of traffic by the school.

The land was appraised an offered to the church at that price, the church declined to buy. Now the church wants to govern what goes on the land. You should have purchased it.

No reason imaginable other than greed to encroach on an historic site! Additionally, area is congestion with school drop off and pick up. Parking along roadside will cause additional hazard to children and adults alike!

Not just the church will be impacted, but the elementary school across the street. Not only traffic would be impacted, but potentially the safety of the kids.

The historic ramifications, alone, should be enough to block this project.

Please stop the over growth with no concern for our environment. Trees and animals cannot be replaced as rapidly as this development.

The extra traffic and congestion is not needed and would be a safety concern.

This land should be preserved! Why do we have to develop every scrap of land? Besides, who wants to live on a traffic island, between Providence Road and school traffic? Enough already.

Ridiculous idea to build there. No thank you.

Please respect the impressive history and service of neighboring Providence Presbyterian Church, and do not contribute to chaotic and potentially dangerous traffic patterns by rezoning.
