Mills Park Middle School students in Breckenridge, McCrimmon at the Park and Phillips Place neighborhoods want to continue their schooling at Mills Park Middle. Our students have friends and caring teachers, and parents have committed countless hours volunteering to make Mill Park Middle the school it is today. For the 2016-17 school year, 72 students from Breckenridge and 19 from McCrimmon at the Park were grandfathered in after a redistricting decision by the Board of Education. Of course, our students are committed to finishing out their middle school years at the school where they began them.
The caveat? Families have to provide their own transportation. In our neighborhoods alone, that would amount to over 100 additional cars in an already overcrowded carpool line, causing traffic problems and a potentially unsafe commute for our students and others.
We the families of Breckenridge, McCrimmon at the Park and Phillips Place are calling on Wake County Public Schools to provide transportation for the grandfathered students at Mills Park Middle School for 2016-17.

We hit a major milestone today and the school board is starting to take notice. Post this link on your neighborhood Facebook group and text three other parents right now to keep the pressure on. We need to show them that our request for bus service is non-negotiable.

I believe providing transportation would help not only the parents, but would help the school better manage resources as well.
My daughter is entering 8th grade and we really need the bus service. The carpool line is already a nightmare and making us drive her every day is just not sustainable for our work schedules.
I have 3 children that would ride the bus (Aidan, Isaac, & Kendall Mick)

The road from Breckenridge to MPMS will be crowded at every intersection, and children will be late for school. Morrisville-Carpenter road at 55 is very slow each morning and 100 extra cars will block it for hours.
