Schools and public libraries can extend the reach through this connectivity. Our county has many areas not connected.

Even though this is a good initiative, I feel the low-income family initiative ($9.95 a month for Internet) is better for families long-term. People are just not aware of this program, this has existed for several years.

Schools want to provide equitable education for all students. Many of our kids need resources at home -- not only in town but in rural areas where there are no broadband opportunities. It is a crisis brought to light by the pandemic, but the needs will continue after the pandemic if not addressed. Thank you for your support.

Getting every American connected with robust broadband is a win-win for everyone, and is especially important now to ensure our students are able to continue to learn and that our economy doesn't further stumble. Please support at-home connectivity so that every child has equal opportunity and access to high-quality education and to accelerate our recovery from this terrible and far-reaching pandemic.

I strongly support this petition. I am in the Technology industry and I have education customers that have been trying to provide internet access to students at home, so they can continue their studies. A lot of these students are low income and need our help.

As a mom, and educator, and a human who cares about equity, PLEASE seize this moment to make sure that ALL kids can connect and learn no matter where they live, how much money is in their parents' bank account. All kids deserve connection, support, and access to education...especially now.

This current experience with Distance Learning has amplified the challenge concerning the lack of digital equity. While paper/pencil packets may allow learning opportunities for students without devices or internet, it falls far short of the engaging learning experiences and individualized instruction that many of the digital platforms now provide. Schools and districts need increased funding and flexibility with e-rate to support true digital equity to provide engaging digital learning experiences for our students.

Closing the homework gap is well aligned with the goals and intent of E-Rate. This change would help schools ensure all students have Internet access.
