This is so important, teenage mental health is something that needs to be addressed more in schools. There has been a noticeable rise in teenage depression, anxiety, stress and eating disorders, and it needs to be sorted out. The schools don't offer enough support.

My school doesn't mention anything to do with mental health in lessons

For All The Socially Anxious
This is for the ones who claw at their arms, their faces, or their necks
in near fatal attempt to escape their inner demons
and not drown in a tsunami of their own tears,
ignoring the blood wounds
left behind from their constantly breaking nails.
The ones who lost themselves to the pain and suffering
of being forced into silence.
And are now physically unable to speak for themselves,
ask for help, or look for the attention they so desperately need and deserve.
The ones constantly worrying and mentally begging to be heard,
the ones with the inescapable consciousness telling them
“It’s only a phase” or “You’re only shy”
or perhaps even that “Everyone gets nervous”
and that they have to do this presentation or speak in front of many strangers.
Some are even told that “Social Anxiety Is Not Real”,
that there is something wrong with their brain and they need to just get over it.
For my people who barely raise their hands
and just stare at the ones who so obviously know what they are doing,
desperately and silently hoping to be noticed and to get the help
that they need with the school work or anything at all.
For the ones who were beat until they no longer had a voice
or are now terrified to have one,
and shake in fear every time it is their turn to speak
or whenever they are instructed to do something
or even when others look to them for instructions.
For my people who feel unwanted, sad, depressed, broken, worthless, unneeded, annoying and like a complete waste of space.
The ones who are constantly being used in more ways than one
and were raised to believe that standing up for yourself is a wretched thing.
The ones who rehearse what they say before making a call
or mentally repeating “Here” to prepare themselves for the thing teachers call rollcall
For the ones who are constantly talked down to,
that believe they are a waste of time and energy.
The ones who are paranoid that everyone is wa

It's about time someone did something about this. I was sent home from school after opening up to a member of staff, even though I told them being at home was what made unhappy and put me on edge. This needs to be dealt with asap.

When my school found out about my mental illnesses, I had a school therapist, and all she said was just try be happy. And schools should do more to help

At my school we had a mental health lesson and my teacher has multiple times said in front of me oh Layla I strongly feel like you may have bipolar and that you may need to see a doctor and she has also told a school therapist and she comes into my lessons and asks me how I'm feeling and it really upsets and annoys me

They don't realise how much worse it makes the situation when they single out people with issues.

I think it's great so many people are getting involved in this because it is so important and affects so many people and I think sometimes schools can put so much pressure on students that they can be the ones causing mental health issues so need to look out for their students more

Encourage PROPER counselling and NONE OF THIS BULLSHIT they supposedly offer to struggling students, also aid in the prevention of the illnesses in the first place by added care and consideration towards social aspects of the school environment.
