once beautiful countryside is concreted over , it is wrecked and gone forever. with so much brownfield land available why are Developers allowed to build on pristine green fields, Green Belts and AONBs etc. Nothing awful is permitted in the backyards of the political elite of course

Opportunist developers with little or no concern for the effect on the local community. If the Local Gap is closed, Hassocks and Hurstpierpoint will become one urban sprawl.

Many hundreds of Hassocks residents agree that building here is wrong. It will affect traffic, air quality and even flood risk. This is too much for us to take and no amount of corrupted data or fudged figures will amend the certain damage Hassocks will suffer if this ridiculous application is allowed.

There seems to be an extremely flawed argument from Highwaysand a great deal of presumption in their argument, something that cannot be allowed in a planning application.

Were the planning authority to abandon Local Gaps, the eventual result would be houses from Burgess Hill to the Downs, devastating the amenity of this area for visitors as well as locals, and fewer visitors means a diminished local economy.

This development if given permission will set a precedence for other developments around Hassocks. It will also increase the traffic congestion and therefore increase the air pollution. Anyone who lives in and around Hassocks and uses HAssocks this includes the commuters for the Station should sign this. The Village of Hassocks is a rural area of outstanding countryside and this development would if accpetted give rise to the destruction of our local countryside.

Hassocks village is already suffering with traffic congestion and this will only make it worse, as well as ruining the landscape and causing damage to surrounding land with the knock on affects this will have on the environment

Building on our contryside is too profitable for developers. There should be a development tax applied to building on greenfields, to make building on brownfield preferable.

Loss of the strategic gap which I view from my garden . Noise and pollution . The traffic is really bad on London road and this would make it far worse. The fields are my joy to look at in the summer and this would certainly hurt the wildlife . Altogether this development would be awful
