Whose paln is it to turn some of the most beautiful countryside into a suburb. One of the jsutifications for this plan when objections were made regarding the additional pollution (already high) was that we will all have electric cars by 2020. So in 5 years everybody in the UK has to buy a new car and I've not seen an electric lorry yet.What bunkum.

Regardless of any infrastructural issues, the Secretary of State’s statement about the Local Gap is what matters. The developers should be shown the door in no uncertain terms. How dare they threaten our countryside to line their pockets!!

Stonepound cannot accommodate any further traffic. There will be no gap between Hurstpierpoint and Hassocks. Somewhere along the line, in my view, there has been some very underhand goings-on between developers and Mid-Sussex DC.

There are real pollution, congestion and access problems with this site not to mention a narrowing of the strategic gap between Hurst and Hassocks. As a commuter this is going to make morning and evening rush hour even more unbearable as more people attempt to get onto trains which already have no free seats on the way into London.

I fail to see any way in which this could possibly be seen as a good idea. The infrastructure and poorly maintained roads in the area are already unable to cope. It is also important that the Local Gap be kept to avoid these villages becoming one huge sprawl of housing. They should be allowed to keep their own separate identity.

The strategic gap between all downland villages needs to be protected otherwise the views from the South Downs National Park will be spoilt forever. I live right on Stonepound crossroads and witness daily the congestion and pollution. This appilcation if approved will incontravertably make the situation worse..

This development should not be approved. I live in Hurst and along with several others weren't able to get a space for my child in St Lawrence. As a concequence I spend a lot of time sitting in a queue of traffic at the Stonepound Crossroads every day. I also feel that the erosion of the Local Gap between the two villages would be a poor decision, especially with the gap between Burgess Hill and the two villages decreasing all the time.

this is not the right location for such a large development. The crossroads is already heavy congested and dangerous. Additionally there is not the infrastructure in place in the village to cope with this quality of additional people (schools, nurseries, doctors, dentist etc already all full). Parking around here is already a total nightmare and the trains are ramIt's far too close to the boundary with Hurst.

Please don't allow this to happen, there are so many other sites that are far more appropriate that Gleeson can use and that we as a village will welcome, but here will only make life in our village so much more difficult. There is nothing good about this development.
