Protect Wilderness Park! Your Voice Matters!

Wilderness Park provides a unique recreation opportunity for the community. I have reviewed the long term planning documents and see growth plans in this area. Please adhere to the planning documents and growth areas identified.

Come on Lincoln city officials! Don’t let those greedy real estate developers encroach on this unique wilderness space. There are other places outside of Lincoln to expand that won’t destroy fragile ecosystems. Thank you for your conscious decision making.

Wilderness Park is a precious jewel for our community. The noise, traffic, and runoff, of this proposed development would destroy Lincoln's precious jewel. Once it's gone it would be gone forever. The Comprehensive Plan calls for preservation of environmentally sensitive areas. This jewel must be preserved!

The proposed zone change CZ21057 and development adjacent to Wilderness Park near 1st & Pioneer is puzzling. The new housing will lead to a big increase in traffic flow in the area. The city plans to close Old Cheney road. Hmm so they will use Pioneer along with all the commuters that used Old Cheney as their route. Let me guess Pioneer will become a 4 lane highway. Please reconsider this zone change. There are better places to build new homes.

Please evaluate carefully and plan cautiously for development in this area. Wilderness Park and its environs must be protected.

Please don’t change the zoning next to WP, we need to conserve what we have left of our green space for the future of our community!

This is the most beautiful space in Lincoln and open to everyone! Please don’t develop it.

Please delay making a decision on this rezoning until further study is done on the potential negatives effects of the development in Wilderness Park.

I am opposed to the proposed Zone change CZ21057. Do not build anything on this floodplain area. Sort of ridiculous anyone would even consider this. This environment needs to be preserved!

This project is a stunning rebuke of our city’s Climate Action Plan, our city’s voiceless neighbors, and the very earth upon which we all live.

I strongly oppose the zone change CZ21057. Do not allow more homes to be built on the floodplain in or around Wilderness Park!

There is nothing more precious than the wild of nature. We go into the park to exhale our joys and sorrows and the trees breathe it in. Spaces like Wilderness Park need to be preserved for the well being of all.

The community needs this valuable park. Do not build anything more on this special floodplain area with a rich diversity of flora and fauna found nowhere else in the area. You need a lot more research done before even contemplating any sort of project and that should be a conservation project rather than a destructive one. This watershed and environment needs to be preserved.

please don't build any more houses here, these new houses y'all have in the Midwest are ugly and make the place look worse. wilderness park is one of the few good places this city has, don't ruin it.

Do more research before deciding to rezone this agriculture area. Ecosystems are fragile and construction can be disastrous to wildlife populations, native flaura, and more! There are plenty of areas within the city of Lincoln that could be used to build new housing rather than tearing up land to creating new.

Hello. I lived right down the street from wilderness park in Lincoln and basically lived there in the summer time. It has been a big part of my life for the past 20 years. My mom and I would walk the trails and my dad and I would bike ride throughout the trails at wilderness park. It also is a HUGE, unique part of Lincoln and I sure hope nothing happens to the park or the land so we can preserve its importance
