Don't let the government continue to play this life and death game with your badgers (and tourist industry) Enough is enough. Show you do care about England's wildlife ans put support behind vaccination, not extermination

Why spend an inordinate amount of money on killings badgers, with such a scatter gun approach, on the off chance they they MAY have bTB and MAY infect cattle. We have virtually eradicated TB in humans through vaccination. Vaccination offers protection to our badgers until we're able to vaccinate cattle.

Vaccination of either catlle or badgers has to make sense rather than slaughtering badgers and cattle, it's not just money, it's cruel and wasteful to carry on like this.

The pilot culls have failed - it is clear to everyone. It is time to consider the only real alternative - vaccinating.

The pilot badger culls have been a failure; have resulted in the unnecessary killing of 940 badgers in West Somerset at an estimated cost of £4,100 per badger - £3,854,000. They will not have helped farmers with the problem of bTB in their cattle and have been divisive and split members of local communities. Vaccinating badgers until cattle vaccination is a reality has none of these negative issues and there is a growing band of well trained, willing volunteer waiting to help.

This Badger Culling is Cruel and is really out of control now. It needs to stop what have all these innocent Badgers done to anyone. They suspect They suspect Badgers TB but what physical proof have they got apart from suspicion absolutely none. Wether they do cause TB or they don't it is still cruel these Badgers wouldn't harm us so why should we be harm them in the words of Dr. Brian May "Stop The Cull" Save Our Badgers & in the words of Brian Blessed "Keep Our Badgers ALIVE!".

Vaccine along with better bio-security is the only way to get rid of Btb once and for all...

The indiscriminate slaughter of 70 percent of one of our indigenous wild species is morally wrong. It is a crime against nature and an abdication of our responsibility as custodians of our land and wildlife. The killing of healthy badgers cannot be justified on any level and should be stopped. Further the cull itself will not solve TB in cattle, it will not - according to DEFRA's own statistics - even halve the rate of it. This is an unpopular, unscientific process which has failed as it was always destined to do. It is time to actively engage in alternative solutions to the badger cull.

I live in a rural village and abhor this killing of our wildlife, cruelty, politically motivated, without accurate science or even accurate figures

Culling/slaughtering badgers does not reduce the incidence of bTB in cattle! This was a political move to appease farmers, who should, they themselves, be taking more responsibility in improving the bio security standards upon their farms. And calling a halt to the movement of cattle as it stands today.

As a Somerset woman, I abhor the waste of life caused by the killing, the casual cruelty and the disregard of scientific opinion.

was not impressed to see that a council vehicle was used to collect a dead badger from a road at 11pm one night during the cull....please support vaccinations.

Killing badgers is a waste of money when they can and are being vaccinated. At a time when everyone is being told to cut budgets why is DEFRA wasting millions on killing for no good reason just long standing hatred of badfers.
