Taking ASL at West changed my life and perspective. My only regret was not starting it sooner. I wish I could’ve taken more classes. So beneficial.

Please keep the ASL program at West! My son completed 3 years of ASL there. I work with individuals who are deaf and have other disabilities. The more people that know asl and can communicate with those who are deaf is so needed in our community!

Keep ASL at WHS!! Why eliminate a program that offers so much to students and has been so successful?

Keep the program. Getting rid of it is dumb. It’s a must to learn.

I have heard many stories who's lives has been changed from people learning even basic ASL. It means a lot to deaf or hard of hearing people. It's like learning to dance with someone in a wheelchair, it makes a moment that they will remember forever.

Language is the best and most valuable thing you can possibly learn. They are the single most impactful programs an educational institution offers.

I cannot express to you how important ASL is. For students. For culture. For the deaf community. Visual languages are unique and teach differently than other foreign languages. It would be of great benefit to any American, especially young students.

Maintaining the ASL program is important because it ensures that people can learn this form of communication which will benefit deaf people. In some ways, discontinuing this program may be considered discrimination against deaf people.
