this is one of the only programs available in public schools in salt lake county that give students access and brings awareness to the Deaf community.

While I did not attend West High, their reputation as an academic establishment was well known. Students all over the Wasatch front know that West High is a school that offers many options for growth and success, an I would hate to see them disregard that legacy by removing options for learning and development. Students thrive when they have more options to explore - not less.

I have two students enrolled in ASL classes at West. Please do not disrupt their learning or access to such an incredibly valuable program.

ASL was one of my favorite subjects in high school. I learned so much and was able to participate in many forms of community outreach throughout my time at West and beyond. I still use knowledge I learned in Mrs. Polls classes to this day. Removing these classes would be a great disservice to the students of West and the community.

My daughter is in her first year of high school and this is her favorite class. She planned to take it every year until she graduated.

Hire a part time teacher for it. So many out there that don’t have to be on benefits

ASL should stay at Weat high school and I think more schools should have this option. My cousin in going on a mission for ASL and I think it's amazing, he learned ASL through his school and now he is helping any others.

If student enrollment is the issue have ambassadors go to the jr highs, do a booth at lunch. It is literally that easy

I myself do not go to west high and that’s why I only put my initials so yall can’t be like let’s find who’s been sneaking into our campus but I’ve been in the ASL class and I have friends in ASL and I know it’s super fun and super cool to learn I have a little sister who wants to learn ASL and taking this program away is like loosing a privilege to know and be more connected to others, i work in fast food and I had a coworker who knew ASL and when people who are deaf would come in you can see the happiness knowing they’re understood. KEEP ASL!! INFACT SPREAD IT TO EVERY SLC HIGHSCHOOL I WISH WE HAD THIS AT EAST/HIGHLAND!!!
