Absolutely terrible that the council is going ahead with the shambles that nobody wants!! Its another DG1 happening all over again!!

How on earth will people traveling through Dumfries know what a beautiful river we have if you take away the view from the road. Please forget about this truly daft idea.

Born in Dumfries and although don't live there now would hate to see the beautiful Whitesands spoiled by this.Consider other options please!!

If the council ruin Dumfries i will never in my life forgive the stupid council. They should listen to the public.

What on earth are they thinking about? This scheme would be disastrous for local businesses on the Whitesands. Road closures and disruptions for up to TWO years.
Also -as much of the area is built on shale rock, a civil engineer I have spoken with, raised concern that the increased water pressure created by the 'bund' may well lead to a disastrous outcome. Dredging is surely the safest and cheapest solution.

Yes the town needs flood protection, but not this scheme it will destroy the greatest asset the town has.

Don't spoil the only nice bit of Dumfries. The Councillors should be listening to the local people not just do what they want.

Don't destroy the beauty of the Whitesands nor The Old Brigg. Council completely out of control and making terrible decisions. Much better solutions available - use some common sense!

I am appalled at the disregard for the views of the people of Dumfries. There is no guarantee this will be effective.

we have an incompetent and out of control council which manipulated the consultation process for their own ends. They must be stopped.

Why would you dream of taking away our lovely view each day when we drive along the Whitesands. You are clearly doing this, to justify your time in council, and to force the issue of charged parking. Not on, your not doing this in my name.
