The co-op is an extremely valuable anchor and important amenity in our community. As a local architect, architecture professor and resident, I strongly support this petition. If the table is not set via a contract and clear program requirements from the get-go to support the co-op's viability, there is no guarantee of its survival.

It provides affordable, healthy and often locally produced food options within walking distance to Takoma Park residents. The co-op's requests are few and reasonable.
