The location and thriving nature of the co-op were strong deciding factors when we bought our house on Carroll Avenue last year. The co-op should be valued not just as an anchor of any new development but also of the whole downtown; what is a small town without a wonderful grocery store? People come over from Silver Spring and PG County to shop there, bringing their dollars to our community. The co-op should be protected and valued or we stand to lose much more than a simple grocery store: it is a center of our community!

The Co-op is located in an ideal spot and serves not only its immediate neighbors and members, but the neighborhoods of DC and the Silver Spring residents by offering both variety and healthy choices.. It needs the space to function well.

The Co-Op is a cornerstone of the TP community, not to mention convenient and earth-minded. Please make it a priority to guarantee its place in the Junction.

I've been a member of the co-op for over 30 years. It would be unconscionable if the city council does not give first priority to the co-op in making decisions about development in the Junction. I also understand a traffic study has not been done about what consequences more development might have on this all ready difficult intersection.

The Co-op has long been emblematic of what makes our community special - even people from DC and Virginia know about our Co-op! It is one reason many choose to live here. Please give your full attention and support to its survival.

TPSS coop was a major attraction for use to choose the neighborhood when we moved here. It is extremely important for our quality of life.

Mayor Stewart and Councilmembers: Please ensure that the finalized Development Agreement includes crystal clear authority for the Council to terminate at its own discretion the agreement, if NDC cannot reach agreement with the Coop and the Council chooses not to provide an extension or to authorize NDC to seek another tenant.

The TPSS Co-op has been a vital part of the Takoma Park community. It supplies the area with quality grocery options, supports many local businesses, employs around 40 locals, has over 10,000 members, and gives back to the community through charity. The Co-op's needs have to be apart of any building agreement.
