I'm a Takoma Park resident.
One of the major reasons I moved to Takoma Park, and one of the reasons I stay is the Co-OP.
As a regular voter my strong desire is that the city make the developers work with the Co-Op to ensure as little impact on their business as possible.
I go to the Co-Op several times a week, the Co-Ops business is my business. Disruptions to it are a disruption to me, a voting Takoma Park citizen.

The co-op is one of the best things about Takoma Park and I shop there weekly. It has been the foundation of the junction, through the junction's many, many changes. To our city council: please help protect a vital neighborhood resource.

We love walking and biking to the co-op. Please continue to support the Co-ops needs, the pedestrian / cyclist focus of TKPK, and our community's ability to grow one of our favorite local businesses. Thank you for all that you do to serve Takoma!

I am very concerned about pedestrian and cyclist safety in the new front-loading-dock proposal! I walk and bike as my primary modes of transportation, and I have children who walk through the Junction several times a day too. In addition to needing a thriving co-op, Takoma Park needs its citizens to be able to get through this area safely no matter their form of transportation. Thank you.

I have been an active TPSS member since 2006, throughout my residences in Hyattsville, Silver Spring, and Takoma Park. I even maintained my membership while I lived in Chicago for 6 yrs, because I believe that strongly in its mission. I now live on Manor Circle in a house where we have 7 TPSS memberships among 12 members. We buy nearly all of our staples, cleaning products, and much of our produce there. Without it, I would have to borrow a car or ride the bus. TPSS is a major draw for people living in this area. Please do every thing possible to keep it a thriving business.

Please ADVOCATE for the Co-op by insisting that the accommodations for the Co-op are worked-out before a development agreement is signed.

The long-term benefits of community driven businesses like the Takoma Food Co-op is often undervalued, overlooked, or simply not understood by many contemporary economic and city planners. Consequently, the long term vitality and health of communities and citizens is undermined and threatened when politicians and planners weigh the views of corporate developers more heavily than those of affected residents, community, and existing and planned community-driven businesses in the area. It is time to pause and rethink economic planning before current trends are allowed to undermine and potentially destroy more communities throughout America.
