Protect the Rappahannock River oppose Dominion Power's new transmission line

The towers would be unsightly and increase the risk of boating accidents.

This area is one of Virginia's greatest treasure. It should be treated as such. Politics and money should not be part of this conversation. Do the right thing and preserve the beauty of this landmark. No Wires

Do I need to stand @the back door of town office building to "get in" on these 'short-notice' meetings btwn DVP & council/staff? No one told US about a meeting!!! Why only town council & staff present?

I agree that these tall towers would greatly detract from the natural beauty of the scene. They will definitely increase the trauma for pilots entering the landing pattern at Hummel Field, making it a more dangerous procedure.

Horrible place to put proposed towers. Hope this doesn't happen.

Put the lines underwater or on the bridge, please.

Maintaining our scenic water views is essential for this small rural County whose economy is built on tourism and homes for retirees looking for a waterfront lifestyle.

Please spend the extra money to bury the power lines. Not only will the rivers views stay in tact, I fear a boater will run into those line pylons. Scott Peterson

i grew up to live by bridge and river. River is great for relax so don't ruin water for crabs and fish.....drink.

For thousands of visitors, some of whom are prospective new residents, the Norris Bridge is the entrance to Lancaster County. Using tall, unattractive, obtrusive towers to run electrical lines across the Rappahannock River will not not create a favorable first impression for a county in need of strong economic development. Surely it would be prudent to examine the possibility of underwater lines; once these fourteen unsightly towers are installed alongside the bridge, the beauty of the river vista will be diminished for decades to come. It is the natural beauty of our region that draws tourists and provides strong economic stimulus each year.

Underwater is a better option.

It is reasonable to expect that responsible stewardship for the long term well-being of the state’s and the local area’s natural assets and constituency would require more deliberation than seems to have taken place. Whatever the final decision may be, the decision is one that will irrevocably affect the environment, the landscape and many people including generations yet unborn. It is worth taking the time to get it right. From the published information currently available it could reasonably be asserted that full deliberations have not occurred and that all options have not been fully presented. It is incumbent upon our elected representatives and appointed officials with legislative and regulatory jurisdiction to ensure that the issue is fully addressed before a decision is made. It is incumbent upon the constituency (us; the citizens, resident and voters) to help the elected representatives remember their stewardship responsibilities. Call them and ask that this project be fully evaluated before a final decision is made.

Widen the bridge and add the lines as part of a new bridge.
